Nudglet is a two-role messaging app. A sender writes short timed messages that appear on a recipient's iPhone lock screen via a WidgetKit widget. The two roles have different data profiles.
When you sign in as a sender, you authenticate using Sign in with Apple. Apple provides us with:
We store your messages in Firebase Firestore, associated with your Apple user identifier. Messages are only accessible to you and the recipient(s) you have paired with.
Recipients use anonymous authentication via Firebase. No email address, phone number, name, or any personally identifying information is collected from recipients. Recipients are identified only by an anonymous, randomly-generated device identifier.
Messages you write are stored in Firebase Firestore to enable delivery to the recipient's device. Messages are not read by us, not used for advertising, not shared with third parties, and are automatically deleted when you remove them or disconnect from a recipient.
Like most apps, Nudglet uses Firebase, which may collect standard technical information including device type, operating system version, and crash logs. This data is used solely for app stability and is governed by Google's Firebase Privacy Policy.
Purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment information. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Your messages are stored for as long as you use the app. When you delete a message or disconnect from a recipient, that data is removed from our database. If you delete your account, all associated data is deleted within 30 days.

Nudglet is rated 4+ on the App Store and is designed to be used by families. The recipient role (typically a child) requires no account creation and no personal information is collected. The sender role (parent or caregiver) requires Sign in with Apple and must be 13 or older in accordance with Apple's terms of service.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in the sender role. If you believe a child under 13 has created a sender account, please contact us at privacy@getnudglet.com.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@getnudglet.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under CCPA. Please contact us for more information.
Messages are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Firebase provides industry-standard security for data at rest. We follow security best practices and update the app regularly.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you through the app. Continued use of Nudglet after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
